Blues blasted over Ballack
FRANZ BECKENBAUER has told Chelsea it was a mistake to sign Michael Ballack.
Ballack left Bayern Munich on a free transfer last summer to sign a whopping £130,000-a-week contract at the Blues.
But the Germany captain has failed to impress in his first six months at Stamford Bridge.
Ballack has not made an impact in the Premiership as he struggles to adapt to the English game.
And German legend Beckenbauer reckons he should not have gone to the Premiership champions in the first place.
The Bayern chairman said: “I don’t see any position for him in Chelsea, the ideal position that he’d always sought, like in Bayern Munich or in the national team.
“Frank Lampard is too strong and takes away the position from Ballack.
"One should know this when one buys him. He doesn’t fit into Chelsea.”

Get off my back
MICHAEL BALLACK has hit back at criticism from ex-England striker Alan Shearer.
Shearer recently accused the midfielder of going through the motions since joining Chelsea from Bayern Munich last summer.
But while Ballack admits he has struggled to adapt to life in the Premiership, he refuses to accept claims that he is not trying.
Ballack, 30, said: "I don't care what people write or say about me.
"It doesn't bother me. Shearer can say what he wants, but that's life.
"Chelsea are double champions and expectations are high. The expectations grow, especially when you are slightly behind.
"I feel well integrated within Chelsea and I am feeling really comfortable here. I have found my role within the team."
